Howdy Awe-d-o-file,
Glad to know you're enjoying your system even more these days. Audiophile gear hunting is a great hobby...
I've built many cables and power cords recently, and enjoy the two audio systems they are placed in, I'm profoundly more pleased by the challenge.
The most interesting AC delivery modification tip I found is implementing Neutrik powerCON 32A connectors for AC umbilicals within a power conditioner array...
...Good bang for the buck AC connectors when used instead of an IEC connector/IEC inlet interface, or a Neutrik powerCON 32A AC umbilical termination/outlet combo.
It's an excellent choice for a power conditioner AC input method instead of an IEC connector/IEC inlet interface, and it's easy to install/terminate.
Cheers, Duster

Duster,
Wanted to sincerely thank you for posting this and bringing it to my attention,.... and to others.
I'm a fan of low DCR power transformers and chokes for tube amps, and this connector should be a step-up over a Hubbell 20 A. IEC interface .
Lovely, 32 A. rated, thank you !!!

One of my favorite PLCs. The other Jr's use Corcom type EV series modules with a oil filled cap. Mikebuilt excellent and under rated PLC's.
He also heavily experimented with wood block tuning and many other tweaks.
ALso gotta remember IEC was developed for cheaper consumer electronics in Europe where every country had their own AC plugs.
The esoteric function of the VansEvers dual transient impedance switches is a very specialized end user adjustable tweak that I've not encountered anywhere else. The effect is not just in the treble region, it seems to extend well into the bottom end, not unlike a phase related issue. An important aspect of the VansEvers PLC is not just basic noise filtering, it's how it affects an often unaddressed audiophile matter termed "Power Factor Correction" (see link below).
Regarding the VansEvers dual transient impedance switches feature: There are four specific contour settings based on the directional flip of two mini-toggle switches. The tonality of the leading edge is affected in a manner that is of benefit to the soundstage presentation, in that the shape of image outlines can be altered in a fashion that may subjectively sound "faster", better focused, more natural, more coherent, or simply best to one's ear.
I have found the transient impedance switches set to positions 1 and 4 to be the best option over the years regardless of other changes to my main audio system.
It is riveted, to discourage inquiry.
One switch IIRC simply adds another positive wire to the oil cap.
Interesting. I had posted how the ratio of positive cross section to ground cross section can alter tonal balance. More positive: brighter. More negative: more bass.
You can experiment with different gauges, but I prefer to simple add and subtract strands. 2 to 1 too much? Try 3 to 2. Fewer strands do sound better but you can calculate cross sectional area on an experental basis easier.
Of course YMMV
I removed the rivets and replaced them with screws. The parts are hardwired with a complicated wiring scheme via basic hook-up wire and what looks like a short length of 12 AWG fine strand count speaker wire. I've considered upgrading the wiring, but Mike likely selected the specific wires by ear, so I do not wish to alter any tuning he may have intended. The only modifications I've done at this point is replace the stock Schurter IEC inlet with an Oyaide Power Inlet R IEC inlet, replace the stock X2 safety cap with a WIMA MP3-X2, replace the stock Schurter snap-in AC receptacle with the Neutrik NAC3MP-HC powerCON 32A AC jack, and replace the stock 3M Bumpon feet with a set of Herbie's Audio Lab Tenderfoot feet.
That's right you changed to neutrik...
IIRC Vans Evers used OHFC wire throughout.
.
Looks good. I've used them before. The EMP Museum in Seattle wanted all Neutrik. I'm using some Speakons now in an audio job. The filter looks cool. Their site (Vans Evers) is no more though.
I listened to a lot of electronic music that has a huge image that had always been "challenging" to tolerate in spots. Robert Miles and Adrian Sherwood both use overdrive and distortion on purpose for effect and it can be ugly on many systems. Last night it was totally acceptable and really unbelievable in some ways.
I don't know what percentage is the power cord and what is the component isolation but I've never been hung up on knowing exactly how an what as I have often implemented multiple tweaks at once.
