Good time to check your drivers and see if they are secured tight. I checked my ProAc's and found all from an eighth to a quarter turn loose. Not sure if it improved the sound but i certainly feel better looking at those drivers.
Follow Ups:
I didn't think I "tweaked" much, but this reminded me of a tweak that I have done. When I get a pair of old speakers, I first mark the top of the woofer and then remount them turning them upside down to give everything a break from gravity. Anyone else do this? I have had a couple old speakers whose voice coil seemed to "drag" and this helped.
Thank you for the tip, Cloudwalker. I heard tightening of the sound image focus after swiveling the mid-range/ woofer baskets of my four-year-old speakers through 180 degrees for the first time.DG

I do that with my Lowther PM-2A drivers once a year. Lowther recommends doing this

On some speakers, it is difficult to remove the grill, and thus it is hard to check the screws holding the drivers to the enclosure.
The same thing goes for the screws holding your CD player's transport to the
bottom of the player
If you've had your player for any amt. of time & never considered checking
to see if you can feel any "movement" to any of these screws there's a distinct possibility 1 or more of them could use tightening.
Wow, never thought of that. Not sure I want to open up my Marantz Sa 11s2 and fuss with the innards, however.
Before you open up the player check it's bottom for the screw heads that are securing the transport to the case there.
I was able to tighten the hex head bolts w/ the appropriate hex wrench w/o
having to open the player at all. These screwheads will be locatable a few
inches back from where the tray comes out of the player
If for some reason you can only access these screws from the inside ,I can't imagine you would have to do anything other than locate them & tighten them down.
Sounds doable. Thanks.
Thanks! for sharing.
