I would suggest using brass tubing to replace the pvc. My idea is to eventually use heavy walled brass pipe (ring) with one brass bolt going through the brass ring with high temp silicon at the tip of the bolt to absorb any expantion. Love this e-clip thing, never heared of them before. Good work , butb s is the way to go, IMHO. Tweaker

I would like to try silicone tubing as that's what it looks like Herbie is using, but whatever works!
My idea would be to lean 3-5 brass rods against the tube and keep them in place with high temp silicon rings or split spring rings. The silicon tubing that Herbie use is chosen by him specifically for its damping effects. Brass would be awesome, I guarantee. Even Herbie likes the Mapleshade brass dampers.
Just have to find the correct size retainer rings. Tweaker
I'm looking into high temp tubing at McMaster Carr. So now for the dumb question. do you know the heat range of power tubes 6550's KT88's ?
