There is a warning on a 6 volt battery against draining the negative terminal. "Incorrect insertion leading to an explosion."
Why? What causes an explosion? What are they talking about?
Follow Ups:
Some devices will have a crowbar diode (deliberatly or parasitically) to protect the device against a reversely inserted battery. This is more or less a short to the battery. Meny batteries have very low ESR and will deliver massive current to a short. This could trigger meltdowns or possibly explosions.

"Incorrect insertion leading to an explosion."
That isn't a sentence. However incorrect insertion of a battery via reversed polarity or a direct short could make a battery explode. All any warnings mean are follow instructions and be careful. There may be an installation environment in some "product(s)" where the negative battery terminal cannot be grounded to the chassis. Perhaps that is what is meant Why don't you be more specific about where you read this and retype it for us it word for word.
