because I agree with Geoff, at least partly, I still like active displays but they tell you little about product under test and can do more harm then good with the sound some get....

"They can do more harm than good..."Exactly. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Ever been in a room with really cool cutting edge equipment and speakers? All the press is there, all the advanced audiophiles are there. All the big dealers are there. Then someone puts something on and everyone in the room gets up and streams out of the room. Now, that can't be good for sales...

Win (mosin) and I have been to many shows together either presenting or harassing. I cannot tell you how many room did not sound good, what I can tell you is the Wilson Benesch / deHavilland room from a few years ago at RMAF still strikes me as an exceptional standout. Most mfg try to put too big a system in too small a room and/or I question some's ability to hear which opens another can of worms of how do you (they) design this stuff anyway?
