The Brainered ac face plate allowed for greater instrument body top to bottom, maybe somewhat deeper bass, tested voice was more forward, as it "should" be. Everything is smoother. The original screw didn't work so I just used the previous one. Will try a brass screw if I can find one. Might have to put the san back in Duster for this tweak. Sure hope , at 2 bills I never get to hear the Oyaide. Tweaker

Sent one off to a friend in Canada... He loved the Brainerd 126453...
I put a couple of long strips of Fo.Q TA-102 on the back...
I usually only put about 1.5" strip of Fo.Q TA-102...
I'n still load these babies up with rope caulk. I's like the channels in the back were made for rope caulk. Tweaker

You were supposed to get a reply 2 or 3 weeks ago! I went with Duster's recommendation for these covers, too, about 3 years ago and never looked back. You also might find if you swap ALL the covers on your system's electrical circuit, it just gets better. Here's an odd tuning trick: Try loosening or tightening the center mounting screw about 1/4 turn at a time for correct tonality - if it's too tight, everything turns harsh in the highs, too loose and the highs recede and the bass gets bloated. Strange!
Just this year, I added Fo.Q damping material to the backs of these plates (Yeah, a tweak to a tweak - when will it stop?!) and got deeper bass and very noticeable increase in dynamics. Because the wall plates are better damped or suspended from touching the drywall, I'm not sure, but fun to play with. Also, I'm probably getting double benefit to any changes in AC because speakers are Quad 63s, energized by house juice, so YMMV.
Good post Quad. I'll try the tighten loosening thing. I'm pretty sure brass center screws sound better. I'll have to go back and forth once or twice to make sure but in general I like brass. Every screw will or may sound different. I use rope caulk for dampening. Cover every outlet??? Yes, it never ends. Tweaker
