I posted about the Placette before. Do you knot want to spend that much? It is excellent but not cheap. If this is the case what is your budget?

I want at least two inputs and the remote.
I'm still considering the Placetta, if I also can use it later on with my SS gear.

I looked at it and $1000 is just too rich for my blood. That's more than the amp it's attached too. If I threw in another $800 I could buy a new CronusMagnus WITH a IR remote already built in.Something in the $100-300-ish range.
I am considering the Placetta, but again it's almost the cost of the amp AND half of the source it's driving.

Hi, you say cheap ...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Version-PGA2311-LCD-Remote-Volume-Control-Pre-Amplifier-with-Memory-Save-/110768209599?pt=US_Amplifier_Parts_Components&hash=item19ca4cbebf
i bought the version with pga2310 chip for little more
It is clean and not offending the ears.
Another solution could be buy a 2nd hand Nad integrated with remote and pre outs ... i have one and again is clean and ....
It should cost 150 USD ?
Kind regards,
bg
I have a NAD C326BEE I should try. I tried my Marantz PM8004 but it really did have a negative effect on the sound.

Hi yes i think so.
Unfortunately I am not an expert so i do not know which integrated has actually the best sounding line stage.
I guess they share similar topologies.
As Nad integrateds sound good also the line stages should be of good quality.
Of course a dedicated remote controlled line preamp should be a better option.
But more expensive.
Kind regards,
bg

Gotcha! I found this. A little DIY required but much cheaper.
