Hi All, I finished this a couple months ago and thought I'd post pix. It is a surge protector and Power Conditioner. The surge protector and Active Tracking Filter are used in very large manufacturing plants to keep the control computers running clean.

I built a box out of 1.25 bullet proof lexan, the carved it to shape, then reassembled it. Sorry of the switch offends anyone.

  I borrowed it from Dennis and have been running it for about a week now with my system. It makes a "sound" improvement and looks good doing it. Nice work Dennis....

    That is very slick. I had many options when I put mine together but I wanted a very deliberate looking piece of art.

      I built mine with the tech help of a friend so I still don't know all the termenalogy. What does your unit do? Is it like an active tracking filter?

        Unlike most UPS's out there, with battery kicking in only when wall power goes out, the "double-conversion" "on-line" UPS regenerates pure sine-wave AC from the battery ALL the time even with it plugged into wall outlet. So it converts AC(wall)-> DC(battery)-> AC.
        
        These things usually cost $800-$1500 range, which is a lot for "UPS," but for audio use, pretty much all of them need to have the noisy fans replaced with quiet ones, like Nexus.

  To have seen a switch like that in my shop...

    Yep, it is an industral switch with an LED inside. It glows green when on. The guy who makes up the plates had a big laugh over that one.
