I emailed Rod when I saw this earlier, I'll check with him again.
My apologies, I didn't notice the "Comment" link, or for that matter understand its function. Good to know, Thanks!
Since the moderators can't read every post as they go up (if at all) any time there is a post that is either against the rules, offensive, etc. or conversely, extraordinarily good (e.g. FAQ material) the comment button will email the moderators directly. This can be a real help for the moderators especially if a lack of action is likely to cause real trouble.
Thanks, not being a smart-ass, please explain your post above re comment button ? and its position. Again many thanks
But I'm not sure what the other question is :)
I posted for the first time in this thread to counter Steve's suggestion about posting on General. My point was that if someone had used the comment link on any post in this thread the moderators could have known about the issue sooner.
Also, I take every opportunity to let people know about it since it's apparent fairly obscure considering how many comments we get :)
At the bottom of every post as you read it you'll find:
[ Comment ] [ Delete ] [ Copyright Warning! Click for Details ]
The comment link is what I was referring to.
The delete link is useful if you made a mistake and no one has responded to your post.
