I know the Internet is business and sales first based I still thought it odd I could find NOTHING on the Sanyo HDT-1 tuner. I'm guessing it is less than 10 years old. An HD radio stand alone tuner it was pretty much new in the box for $30 at Goodwill. I used all my Internet savvy to find anything on the net on this thing but zilch. Evidently Sanyo has changed as their US site is now SanyoTV.com and has nothing but TV including their "support" with manual downloads. Only TV's. I would have bought it to play with if I lived where I could receive anything (with even a big roof antenna) but FM is a waste of time where I live. I wanted to look up if it was worth buying to resell. I guess not. The packet with manual, power cord and remote was never opened.

Try searching on Sangean HDT-1.
Bunch of conversation about it on AVSForum.com (link below).
It's an average tuner, sells for $50-$150
I had both Sangean and Sequerra HD tuners; in both cases, I preferred the sound of analog. I have very strong signals and no reception issues; lots of people report good distance reception with HD. It is quiet but the sound quality is not up to critical listening IMHO.
I would never buy an HD tuner for fidelity just the extra content. As I said FM, TV and VHF (2 meter) ham radio is a waste of time here at the bottom of the valley. That and I'm in podunk to boot. Merry Merry!

Merry Christmas! If you don't plan to sell it soon, try the DX capabilities; you might get a pleasant surprise. The Sony HD tuner was supposed to be excellent in that regard. Also quiet AM! Good luck!
I did pass on it. I once had a nice tuner and tried a roof antenna setup here but it was a waste. Like I said I'm down in a narrow valley, 200 yards wide at most, with very steep mountains at the east and west.
I'm also out in the middle of nowhere and need an "open view" to the east to get much of anything. Now if you drive to the top of the mountain then you can get DC area stuff pretty decent. If you get in the car at my house and hit scan it stops on two stations. AM is worse.
Merry Christmas
