Tim,
After doing a location search & then genre search I was able to find this station . I believe the first thing I picked up was a live concert of the Chopin piano cto. # 1. Pretty nice ! My Cambridge Internet Player display read that bit rate as 96kbps for this station, which leads me to my next question.
Seeing as how some of these station bit rates appear to be on the low side, but still sound just fine, how does that work ? Does the "bitrate" for a broadcast feed mean something
different than the bitrate of a Digital File that is playing
I've got to be missing something !
Follow Ups:
ABC Classic FM uses the AAC codec, I think.I can assure you that the FM broadcasts sound a lot nicer, more musical, more apt, nuanced and detailed.
If it is overnight (here in Aussie) programming there will be less station and recording promos.
One of the best things is the concerts live and recorded.
I also record acoustic/classical concerts for our local community arts and music station - ARTsound FM. We use the Australian made Rode cardioid condenser mikes in a near coincident pair on a stereo bar and Marantz digital recorders.

Yeah, I'll bet "full Frequency" Broadcasts on an FM Tuner through my Metrum Hex DAC
would sound very good.(I think the Hex DAC is making the Internet feeds sound better than any reasonable expectation of how good they can sound. I can only hope for more bandwidth to magically show up,hey we can dream can't we ?)
Have a good one ! (Or a couple if your in the right place for them)
Okay?

Oops, forgot that FM is analogue ( I just remembered the good old days, when I listened to FM on my mom's tubed Fisher receiver )
I get carried away sometimes , because other then when I was still spinning vinyl 25 or 30 years ago I've never had much in my system that reminded me of Analogue as my Non-over sampling DAC. I'm not overly impressed with high bit-rate Digital.
I'm listening to the AVRO film music feed from the Netherlands (256kbps) . Warm & full
sounding with some nice soundstage. Warmth & soundstage at this bit rate ?
A Tuner & a good Yagi just are'nt a possibility for me in the near future. ( just realized they're
playing music from the LOTR soundtrack , not major music but enjoyable nonetheless)
That's a great pity - for IMO&E low bit-rate digital codecs do audible damage to acoustic music.
