It's not continuous.What was going on is the box's knobs are two-pieces.An outer fancy shell and the actual knob inside the shell.Mine came lose,slipping...hence the ''continuous',lol.It's a four position control.I gorilla glued the two solving the confusion.The FM10 works ok with most stations but doesn't help with weak and/or distant stations.

I am glad you got it fixed. I forgot to check mine. I plan to put a yaggi in the attic, but I hoped this would help in the meantime. For $3, it is hard to complain!

3 bucks is what it's worth compared to a yaggi,lol.The FM1O looks great
atop my audio/video rack but I reckon rabbit ears would do a better job.
Mine's a freebie.
btw,a few friends not knowing what the FM1O is thought I'd just gotten a satellite box.
A yaggi is in the works!
