Thanks for the information. I don't understand what you are suggesting I do with the receiver. Is there something with pictures and instructions I could look at?

I am on a waiting list for a restoration of my 2226B by Tom Williams a/k/a "Catrafter" d/b/a Vintage Electronics Restoration Services over at Audiokarma. I have been waiting now for a year and a half. I sent him a question on whether he would modify the tuner section to reject this junk. I don't know why he wouldn't.
Greetings backatcha, Rivieraranch. Aint got any photos to illustrate recommended mod. Sorry. But that balun feeds both 75 & 300 ohm F.M. inputs IIRC. Looks like a little wire-wound ferrite transformer. Found it impeded signal reception, & routinely remove it on every vintage tuner-n-receiver. There should be five(methinketh) screw adjustments on tuning capacitor; two for AM & 3 for FM. You can peak signal reception by adjusting them judiciously, which your s-meter will verify. Plenty of folk swear by A.K.'s Catrafter, rather than at him. You'll have one killer classique Marantz when he's worked his magic on it. 73s from Sactown!!!
Thank you; The message you wished to impart was received more clearly now. This is something I could monkey around with on my own, or wait for the Catrafter.
