Both the 6087/5Y3WGTB and the 6106 have cathode sleeves. Therefore, you take the "raw" B+ off pin 8. Some units may take 5Y3 rectified B+ off a CT on the 5 VAC winding. Those units require some tweaking. Other than that, the 1/2 indirectly heated variants drop right in.

I've seen very few circuits taking B+ from a 5V center tap. Most 5Y3 circuits take it from pin 8, and are compatible with rectifiers with cathodes. The delayed turn-on with the cathode tube is a bonus, too.
The CT is actually better, when a directly heated type is employed. The lowest residual hum is achieved. Since CTs cost money, they are not particularly commonplace..
