Anyone compared Psvane WE845 vs. Shugang WE845 replicas?
I am interested in getting Psanve WE845 for my Cary 805 AE amps based on the overwhelming enthusiasm of some of users here. Then, checked eBay and found Psvane WE845 at ~850/pair and Shugang WE845 only ~$450. I just want to know whether there is any significant sonic difference between them?
Follow Ups:
The Psvane 845 WE's are $699 a pair including shipping from Grant Fidelity. FWIW, the "T" versions are $399. I've seen the Shuguang WE's priced at $550 direct from Shuguang, but I've yet to see a review.
I don't usually buy Chinese tubes but like every tube fanatic I do wonder abouyt them. What are the supposed sound differences between the T version and the WE (replica) version. I don't have an amp right now that could use the 845,I like the "big" tone they produce.
Well if you ever end up with an 845 based amp, you'll probably find yourself liking Chinese tubes more than you might suspect. I can't fault what I'm hearing and the price is right. Plus I've never had any of them fail. On the other hand, a friend has had 2 T's fail, but they were readily replaced by the vendor. No problems since, so may have just been a faulty batch. Personally, I prefer the WE version, especially if the price fits your budget. On the other hand, if your dipping your toe in the water for the first time and a bit strapped for cash, the Shuguang 845B would be my choice. Easily the beer budget best buy IMHO.
The issue with 845 tube failing is that a lot don't survive shipping due to their large internals
I've never had an issue, but I know that has been a problem in the past. It looks like Grant Fidelity stopped selling the Shuguang 845B for that very reason. I've bought "B's" from them in the past with no issue, but it is what it is.

Do you know their contact information?
I've sent email a couple of times. No response yet.
The Grant Fidelity website only shows an e-mail contact form to fill out. If that's what you used, that looks to be the only way to contact them. I no longer see a phone # contact on the site. I've have no issue ordering from this site. Response acknowledging an order is pretty rapid in that case.
In regard the the Shuguang 845 WE, the quoted price ($275 for one tube) I saw was at www.leisure-audio.com (in China)
