One of my Quicksilver Silver Mono power amps is making some noise. Tubes test OK. I had to replace the power switch in the other a year ago - could this be the problem again?
Follow Ups:
sometimes when electrolytic caps are beginning to fail they will make cracking, snapping, popping sound.
Try contact cleaner on the sockets and tube pins.
Good luck!
Tried that and it made it worse so I agree - is likely a socket problem. Then tried Mapleshade silver contact grease and that seemed to help. I like to pretend I can fix things. Will take it in for service I guess. Thanks
