I just bought a pair of Mullard 12au7's with a triode balance of 3400/3000 (both tubes have the same numbers). Does this imbalance create any risk for my amp, or is still in the "safe to try" category? Thanks in advance!

How do you like the tone of those Mullards?
The Mullards are good; they have great clarity and balance, and the background is super quiet/dark. However, the images lack the sense of physical body that I like (and that I'm getting with the Sylvania/CBS combo. For example, the Mullard's opera chorus sounds/"looks" like an well-place blur of correct pitches, but the CBS fleshes out the voices, giving them a spectral dimension. I actually like the HP/Toshiba 5963 I just tried -- it beats the Mullards for clarity and dimensionality, and it's equally well balanced. I'm going to try a Tungsram 12ax7 with the HP next. . . . (The CBS is just a little bass/bloaty and slow. Just a tad.)
Those are apparently some sort of tester readings of transconductance. Those readings are quite close to each other and are just fine. FYI, there would be no risk to the amp even if the difference was much larger.
Not likely to be a problem excepting for differential circuits, even then, not much of a problem.
