So I gather you have not heard my Kurashima 45 SET Amplifier with the unfortunately rather limited run 45 globe Emission Labs tubes.
While perhaps not optimal for listening to rock music loudly, in my opinion there are few better options for jazz and classic voice - which make up around 85% of my listening.

No i have not and i see no reasons to do so. I like modern transformer(cores) and i like esl and i don't think any 45 will drive them.
Very much a matter of taste. My prior system was composed of esl driven by very good quality SS speakers.
For the music I listen to 45SE driving high eff speakers is far more satisfying to me anyway.
Moreover, as I happen to live near a jazz club that features some of the musicians I listen to at home, I can say with some degree of confidence my system does a fairly good job accurately rendering their sound.
Impossible because audio is in the first place an illusion. But good for you that you are happy with it.

metthwj2, specially for you, read this post about old transformer cores : cores:http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/tubes-valves/295390-output-transformer-new-vs-vintage-iron-3.html
Update...
Nothing new there, just the usual stuff: pictures. For me really boring site because its all about picures and very less about other more interesting tube stuff.
But if you like pictures its a kind of wahala, but very slick.

In the few threads you have posted to since joining two months ago you have belittled others' opinions, and badmouthed Electraprint and VinylSavor. Jack Elliano of Electraprint makes great transformers and has probably 60 years of experience. I have his outputs in two of my amps. I consider Mayers' VinylSavor blog to be a treasure. Not many designer/builders go to the trouble of documenting their builds for the benefit of others. The photography is fantastic and the dissection of the various tubes that he covers in depth seem to be a labor of love.
It's just my luck that of the hundreds of threads here at A2 you have glommed onto mine, adding nothing of value.
I'm guessing you're an evil mix of curmudgeon and misanthrope.
I will not bother to reply to your response so go ahead and get in the last word if it makes you feel better. I won't be wasting any more of my time with you.
Its a free world :-)
I am guessing you looked in the mirror.
