Those were audio output tubes mainly used in televisions. They look a lot like a 6AQ5.

Mike,
Design max. plate dissipation is 7 W., while the 6AQ5 is a member of the "12" W. 6V6 family.
FWIW, I'd match up some quads and build something PPP. Full pentode mode "finals" with 0B2 regulated g2 B+ seems right. You can safely exceed the documented max. plate voltage using controlled g2 B+, provided you don't exceed the plate dissipation max.
Perhaps something along the lines of the 6Y6 amp I worked with Jeff Yourison, which uses near Class "B" O/P tube operating conditions and "fixed" bias.

Was it used in car radios, too?
Steve
They were used in series wired black and white TVs as I recall.

I suspect 600 mA. series heater strings.
