I purchased a pair of RCA 12BZ7 black plate tubes from Ebay. The seller said they were a 12AX7 replacement. I don't want to use them in the preamp section of my integrated amp unless they are safe to use. Anyone know this tube. Sound characteristics? Thanks

If you are talking about that Jolida it may be unwise.
Have you considered a subwoofer monitor setup with that amp
I'm using one and I'm a real old school fart and love it.

I have several 12BZ7 that I bought from Cary Audio over a decade ago. These were for my AES/Cary SixPac monoblocks that used the 12BZ7. I liked the way they sound in this particular amp vs the 12AX7, but this amp was designed to handle the 12BZ7.
The 12BZ7 is NOT a drop in replacement for the 12AX7. The amplification factor (mu) is the same, but other parameters are quite different. For starters, heater current is doubled. Also, the 12BZ7 has a reputation for being microphonic.

Would using this tube ruin my amp?
"Would using this tube ruin my amp?"Possibly. But according to the curves it seems unlinear, thus would damage your sound quality.

That depends on how well the power xfmr is made or derated. An extra filament xfmr may be called for.
Eli is right; not a drop in replacement, but you may want to give it a try.
the heater current draw is more than a 12AX7, but some like the sound of the tube. may want to check with the manufacturer of your pre amp and ask them if the power supply will handle the higher current draw from the heater.
