I have a HK citation II that I bought that had 3 gold lion KT-88s in it one was broken. I considered buying one on ebay so I would have a quad until I seen the prices they were going for. Its hard to pay 250 for a single tube when I paid 500 for the amp!

I picked up a sunn 1200s that had a quad of ge 6550 but one has a broken guide pin.I fully intend to restore the hk citation but its a matter of time not money!
I got one of my four Citation 2s like that..It came with four original Gold lions and one has a broken guide pin but was still good..I found it in the bottom and glued it back on.

Ahhh, thanks Mike!
That is what I was going to use, but I wanted to asked folks with experience first.
You got a great deal. "McShane" your "Deuce". Sell the working OS KT88s to 1 or more "audiophools" and install 4X "reissue" GL KT88s. Matched pairs are all you need, given the individual bias adjustments.

Bingo! Eli...you're a man with excellent common sense.
