I didn't put the 7247 10M up just the 12AX7s
I bought this Fisher X-202 from a neighborhood rummage sale in Miami back in about 2006.I took a look at it today and I noticed it has a pair of 12AX7 10Ms and a 7247 10M..My question is,what is the big deal? They don't have gold pins like my 12AT7 10M which I do like but on these I'm not sure much of a difference exists.
My favorite 12AX7s are the Tele smooth plates and the Amperex DD getters, not to mention the Raytheon 5751 windmills and the 12AX7 black plates by everyone.
I have to figure what I want to do with this nice box of 30 NOS/NIB Tele ECC803s I got for a 100 dollars. HAHAHAHAHA you wish Samra. That was a nice dream I had about 5 months ago.
Anyway, how about these 10Ms? Any opinions?

The noise and microphonics I find in a lot of NOS Mullard 12AX7s..I have CV4004 box plates that went noisy after 100 hours.I have 1958 Mullard Long plates with perfect writing that have low emission..I guess this is why I'm so fond of Teles, they sound good and don't give you any crap and even if they check low in emission, they work just fine in most cases. The DD getter Amperex are very nice as well.
Personally, the 12AX7LPS and the new Genelex 12AX7s and the new Mullard 12AX7 are giving the old tubes a run. There are definitely trade off issues in both NOS and new production.

Those 10M's can be fantastic sounding tubes. They can also have popcorn noise or be microphonic. Ya gotta listen to em!
BRENT JESSEE wants $450 each NOS for standard pins and $499 each NOS for gold pins.
I have three (standard pins) that I haven't listened to.
