I have the 5751 JAN military one in my Red Wine DAC, a 5751 triple mica one in my Red Wine phonostage, and a 12AX7 in the SET amp in my other system. This despite having quite a collection of more well regarded tubes. Anybody else find themselves gravitating toward GE? I have a 5751 GE triple mica black plate but it sounds a lot like my RCA black plate. A little forward and too much attack.
Follow Ups:
GE 7408 tubes, with the big boxy grey plates, have THE best bass response of any 6V6 tube I have heard.
The rest of the frequency response is good (NOT great), but if you are a bass fanatic, these are the 6V6 tubes to own.

How does RCA compare?
Right situation is right. I've had "situations" where a GE 5751, 12AX7, or 6550A was just right thing - that is, the thing I enjoyed best; the system synergy was there for me.There are many GE tubes I've liked, sometimes been surprised by. And I know folks who find them to be THE tube for some applications. Generally, I do like just about any of the long plate GE 12AX7s and 12AU7s. I've even found some good synergy with the early short plate 12AU7s. They seem to sound different from the later ones. Many of the 5814s can do a lovely job in a 12AU7 socket. The 3-mica gray plate O-getter GE 5751 from the early 1960s has often done the trick.
And generally, I would tend to agree with Mechans about mid and treble ranges of most of the GE tubes I've used. The 3-mica black or gray plate Sylvania 5751s are hard to beat in most applications for their overall sonic character.
All of this is why you want to have a selection of tubes on hand as your palette to experiment with how different tubes work with you system and your ears. Which is why as good as transistor gear can be, I am not likely ever to be tubeless.

I used those tubes in a dyna PAS3. Innocuous sound; not bad but not great either. FWIW, to me, the PAS3 is kind of blah sounding, so the tubes may have been hamstrung by the circuit.
I have always felt GE made tubes were under rated. You can sure get deals on different NOS types if you buy GE.
Perhaps under rated for specific concerns. I find the bass out put from the GE triple Mica Grey Plates to be prodigious even thunderous given the right situation. They are good tubes, however the GE tubes don't have the mid and treble of other manufacturers such as the loved Sylvania 3 mica Black plate.
I find the RCA to be dependable and robust, meaning a clean strong output. As for sound they have more detail but can sound hrad edged sometimes, that is with the older 3 mica black plate. They made a double mica which was promoted as a premium tube called the 'Command Series'. I had a few of them. I should have one or two lying around but just haven't seen them. I can't recall the plate color but I think grey, or any special pin treatment. They seemed innocuous to me, inoffensive but not inspiring either.
Spoiler alert boring tube story.
I thought I was doing a good deed but.......
I once sent a few RCA Commands to a guy on a fixed income as his CJ amp needed a couple and CJ's prices were not acceptable also he had the RCA Commands in the amp before and liked them. I was practically giving them away I asked for no money up front, not even shipping, because he needed the next check to afford them.. He said that one was noisy and another had some other issue. I never heard those things in my amps or testers. He did return them at least. I wish I knew where they are now!
