Hi all,
New here :) Not sure is this question belongs in this section (moderator feel free to move it as you see fit). I have a rheem califone 26V cosmopolitan 2 transcription player that has all of the tubes removed and no chart to tell me what they are. Can anyone here tell me what they are (or send me a pic of their chart)? Thank you, Rick.

I posted pics (twice) of this amp and saw them in preview, but they are not here, so here is the photobucket link to them so maybe looking at the amp someone can tell what tubes this used. Thank you, Rick.

First off, welcome.I looked for a bit too, as I'm sure you did for a long while online, and came up with very little. I agree with 1973shovel- you're going to to have to locate a Sam's Photofact manual, schematic or (someone with) another identical unit. There's an empty hole on the chassis, suggesting that they made revisions and/ or used the frame for different models, which makes it all the more difficult.
You could get crazy and test some voltages, resistances, trace out the circuit. I see that there's 5 tube sockets- 3 novals and 2 miniatures, but I also see what looks like a power transformer. So, not series AC heaters... This era would highly likely use a tube rectifier- 6X4? Looks like the input/ phase splitter/ driver position(s) could be 12A_7 type dual triode(s). Probably single ended output- 6BQ5?
All in all, no way of knowing for sure without a chart- but possible to make educated guesses and hope to not blow it up. ;-)
Edit: I'm not in any way suggesting to just stick some tubes in. I meant very educated guesses after tracing out the circuit.

here is the amp from another 26V, but that serial number starts with H as mine starts with G, so it seems that within the same model (26V) they changed amps as this one is not the same as mine :( So the hunt continues for either a sams or another 26V in the G series, DOH!

I just noticed that on the schematic, it says 26Vp2 only, but on the phonograph it just says 26V. makes it harder to tell when just looking at the phono model number without seeing whats inside.
hi all,
can anyone here make an "educated guess" (as was suggested earlier in this thread, but i'm not able to do that) as to what tubes might have been used in the 26V from the schematic above? Thank you, Rick.
Thank you Cory for the reply :) I have some emails out to sams/ schematic folks, so hopefully they can come up with something, Rick
But without a schematic you're not going to know the proper tubes, since apparently they didn't stencil the chassis. Hopefully someone knows this unit, and can give you the information.
I googled for a schematic, but had no luck. Try finding a list of Sams Photofacts, and maybe you'll find one there.
Good luck.
Thank you 1973shovel for looking, this will be a challenge. I'll try sams, Rick
