Hi,
I bought a pair of Siemens E83CC many years back (I actually forget about it). I can see the triple-mica. The words on one tube is faded but the other one can be read. How do I interpret the code 34300? Which year was this made and where?
Thanks.

I am pretty certain that this is a genuine Siemens&Halske made tube. The construction is unique, especially the "T" shaped bar under the lower mica spacer. If you pop the tube in the freezer for a few minutes when you remove it and the tube warms up the code can sometimes be legible. regards, Dak

What you need to find is the acid etched codes. If this is a true Siemens the acid etched code will have an equals (=) sign with a slash though this symbol. The whole code will be something like: gf1 =2L3 or some such series of letters, symbols and numbers. Most likely this code will be printed along the bottom side of the tubes.
Thanks for the note.
On one tube I can see there is very faded code but it's so faded that there is no way of reading. On the other tube (the one photo shown), I can't seems to see any other code.
Can the acid etched codes be faded away? Could it be that these are not true Siemens E83CC?
Thanks again.
