Yes I did try them and thought they were a fine tube. I found them slightly on the warm side but with plenty of detail and quite musical. Actually, since they have an electrostatic shield they're technically a 6CG7. For some reason I seem to remember that conrad-johnson didn't connect pin 9 in this position so the shield may not even come into play electrically. The ones I had were branded Brimar but they're supposed to be the same tube.

Between the Mazda and the Sylvania 6fq7 what would be your first choice for CJ 12 regardless of the price ?
The Sylvania. But I don't know how readily available they are nowadays. It's a question of what you value. The Sylvanias always seemed the more neutral to me. I felt that the Brimars (Mazdas) were perhaps a little too much of a good thing. They were always in service to the music, though.

hi thanks for your comments !Meanwhile i just bought a pack of six Sylvania 6cg7 1958. ( nib/nos)
Also bought three RCA 5751 black plate 3 mica ( nib/nos)
But still i have not decided about the 6550 - GE or SED 6550c ?

Very nice score on both the Sylvania and the RCA. :)
It's true that the Premier 11/12 amps were voiced around the GE-6550A but the almost $500 savings in getting the SED =C= 6550C is considerable. Not sure where you saw them for $89/each but Upscale has them for $70 and they're burned in for 72 hours. The savings would naturally be even greater.
You might want to check with Upscale and also with Jim McShane to see what they have. No affiliation with either seller except that they're stand-up guys and I was always very satisfied with them both.
