Thanks for your reply. For a non technical person like me , I would rather use that kind of tube tester that you mentioned like the Eico tube tester , I just forgot what model ? It's just say's good , bad & it lights up when there's a leak in the tube. This Amplitrex AT 1000 is to complicated for me .

As a fellow non-techie (to put it mildly), with an Eico 667 AND a George Kaye Tube checker (for small tubes only, such as 6922 and 12AX7) the Eico won't tell you squat, in many cases. It has routinely given tubes a clean bill of health that the George Kaye tester says are pretty awful. It will identify the dead ones, though.

Thanks for the info regarding the Eico tube tester. I remember the tube tester made by George Kaye back in the 90's . If memory serves me right it was even reviewed in TAS .

That's the one. Scarce as hens' teeth today. I just saw one advertised for $1.000 and it was gone when I went to look for it again.
