It took forever for my dealer to determine that it was simply a problem in the power tube sockets that was causing my amp difficulties. I need to replace my amp's power tube sockets with some quality items. The tube sockets in my Cary amp need to tolerate tube testing/switching, which they seem to no longer to be able to do. Now we know the problem, but the new problem is what kind of socket to install...any suggestions or sources?? Thanks

If they will fit properly, NOS Amphenol or NOS Cinch are your best option for replacement sockets.
There are plenty of NOS tube sockets out there on flea-bay, at reasonable prices.

Sockets are not made to take repetitive tube rolling. They do wear out and loose their contact tension.
Socket savers may be an alternative, but only when the amp is new. Once they get worn it's too late.
Chances are, your amp uses board mounted sockets. You pretty much have to replace them with identical replacements. Other sockets may be better quality, but probably will not fit the board layout.
Clean the socket contacts thoroughly with 99% isopropyl and an interdental brush of appropriate size, and blow the alcohol out with compressed air before it evaporates. Then, retension the socket contacts.
What power tube?
Stop tube rolling. Problem solved.
Determining which to use shouldn't be hard as you can take one out to match. Get the same thing to replace it.
Has the tech tried to retention the sockets?
If you are pulling tubes that often you might want to think about socket savers.
Maybe not like the originals. PTFE creeps and ceramic conducts vibration. Mica loaded phenolic has a lot going for it.
I agree with the socket saver idea, as the OP seems to be OCD about tube rolling.
