Thanks for the tip on the better sounding tubes, the amps are stock in any case after it gets a look over I do believe that new quad caps are a must and the boards seem to sound from your opinions that those also should be replaced no matter what small amount of work was done on the original boards that are still in the unit. This is a dream to me to have the solid amps, I have the TT, tuner, and yes very old but great to my ears sherwood cassette player/recorder. So I can record my blues shows.
Thanks for all the help people anything else you want to educate me on feel free. Like I said the last forum just called me a dummy blah blah. I do love music and have all my life. I will stop there.

The dynacos in unmolested form will last another 40 years, boards in pertinax, thats safe as it does not absorb water, transformers don't age,
the two things to look for is :
B+ cap, thet will loose capacitance and should be replaced to a simular, and the selenium rectifier that power the bias - voltage.
And of course, the tubes, they are, as always has been, a limited lifeteime object. Replacing powertubes and rectifier after 2000h is what ought to be done ( don't wait for them to flash)
I have spent my life trying to find the perfect system (there is no perfect) but it is possible to come closer to the music if done right, without sounding like a chump I really appreciate all the info and insight to getting along with my music.
I have loved music all my life grew up with it what a gift.
