I gave the tubes a couple days to settle into the system, might they need longer?
Maybe I should drop them back in and give it a week.

gradEHoser,

As someone whom has been every one of their known versions short of the 50's Black Plate, I'd like to share with you their telltales signs, if you will.
Until then,

I realize it's a lot to write but if you could give us the fundamentals, that would be nice.It might make it to the reference section here "FAQ".
When I saw the red at the glass to pin interface I thought of East German but the rest doesn't have that gestalt!
Yes, there's a great deal more to it, yet I've the upmost respect for the guys at Tubemonger to add to it, as there are times when someone can share to much information on this or that tube, only to sit back and watch as someone with deeper pockets purchase all of the variants worth pursuing to begin with, as I've seen this happen on more then a few occasions, and seeming that I'm quite taken with this brand, and have purchased and then turned around in an effort to assist friends in hearing what I've heard with certain vintages of them, and sold off more then I'd have liked and now am trying to replenish the ones that regretful got away, I've learnt my lesson.
Somethings are better kept a secret, as all to often said information given openly can also cause certain tubes supplies to become depleted or more costlier then needed. And in said case..........., somethings again aren't meant to be shared until someone actually has enough of any given tube in house stash wise, where it doesn't matter.
Much like Joe Tube Lore's, while it serves as a nice starting guide, it left out so many brands as they relate to places of origin, and even more importantly which brand factories actually produced the better made and sounding tubes............, case in point, I'd wager not many knew that Tungsram tubes were built in 7 different factories, in 4 different countries.
Yet this information has always been there, for those whom cared enough to dig deeper.
I would say that after 10 to 12 hours of constant use you should have a very good idea of how they sound.
