I have a good number of el84 tubes (at least 75), but my Sherwood s5000 operates waaaaaay North of 300v, and as such would go through my el84's like a super model in a pile of coke.....

ROFL!!
I thought I may have some 7189's in my overblown stash, but no luck. Like you, I have a pile of 6BQ5/EL84's, but no 7189's or A's. Have some Ei's marked as EL84EG's, and while searching around to find out what the "EG" stood for, I stumbled across a dealer never to buy from:
"6BQ5 = EL84 = CV2975 = E84L = 7189 = 7189A"
Really?
Never could find out what the EG meant, so I'm assuming it's just a grading mark for higher spec tubes. Oh well.
some 7591's in NOS. Tubes are great and it is nice that some are finally being made again that are quality. It took so long to get here but still not enough in the varieties that everyone needs.
