Don't ask me why I save things like this.

That's so cool. Thanks for sharing it.
Geez, Byrd. What other treasures you got stashed? I'd love to rummage through your basement. That thing is pretty cool. Fairly worthless, but pretty danged cool.
I'm sure these pics were posted here years ago.
I keep everything not in use in my custom designed, temperature/humidity/Gamma ray controlled, Randall STSPF 4.97 ASA-G2/1.01 rated, Subterranean Storage Preservation Facility....Site II.
I've since added an Eico HF-85 kit.

Very cool, you've got some real treasures there!

Buy Chinese. Bury freedom.
The Mercury is the first tester I showed my son how to use. I also had a small Heathkit emission tester at the time. I thought this was cool when I saw it at an antique shop in Corning. The price was right, even if it didn't work. Turns out, it works well. Obliviously highly limited....but it does a slew of types. It's a piece of electronics history/nostolgia. It can still serve someone who's just startingwith tubes, or someone who has the room to display it. I no longer do.
Since then, I've acquired several testers, and sold a few.
For now, I use a Hickok 539A, a pair of 539Bs, a 533 and 6000A. also have a Heathkit TT-1, but that needs some work from what I understand from a friend who has looked into it.

You have obviously taken your interest in electronics to a whole other level. Very cool.
