Any help appreciated as all print has been lost over time
They do have the following etched codes:
74
B2
74
B7
74
B8
Follow Ups:
they are English made early 4 pins full wave rectifier similar to the 5U4G in current handling

Test the filament. If it's 3A at 5v it's probably a 5Z3.
If it's 2A at 5v it could be an 80 or also an 83V. That's not the mercury filled 83, but a 5V4G in a UX4 base.
Probably 5Z3. Same as 5U4G, but four pin base.
I had the same thought but the plates look to be a little short compared with those in all the images of 5Z3's I've seen
Can't tell the relative size from the photo. Could be a type 80, which was smaller than a 5Z3. It was similar to a 5Y3G.
I'd wondered if they were 80's but all the 80's I've ever seen have been smaller, more the size of a 45 but these are bigger, similar in size to a 5U4G or 274a and have etched codes like early Mullards. The pics above show size comparison against 5U4G, GZ33, U52 and 45

My calibrated eyeballs tell me that these are type 80. 5Y3 is the same, but with an octal base.
FWIW, my guess is the #80 too.
