On a scale of 1-10?
Compared to NOS?
A pair came with a Chinese Pre-amp I purchased on the internet (shame on me!).
Came with a NOS Amperex rectifier and a NOS 6L6 series regulator, believe it or no.
Follow Ups:
In my Latino ST-70, I use them on the left and right channels, but the middle tube I use a vintage 6SN7. It's a voltage divider situation, so I've never had a problem with these Tung-Sol Reissues. They sound good in my setup. Jim McShane sold them to me and it's been great.
FG.

So many cheap vintage 6sn7s around why bother? Hahaha, can't resist stirring the pot!
From United Electronics 845W'a through NOS NIB RCA Globe 10's to every imaginable crappy little nine pin tube. =:-0
Yep, even a few NOS 6SN7's, Chrome Tops, Round Plates, Grey Glass, you name it, I got it.
Eventually be just another pile of 'some old dead guy's stuff'. :-(
All the more reason to use your good stuff now Ivan!
Don't save it for the dead man's dumpster enjoy while you can. If you run out you can always buy a new "Tung Sol".
Ivan, I have been selling tubes I *know* I will no longer use. Better that they get passed along than end up in a dumpster as some dead guys stuff. I'm 63. ;-)
my Rogue Metis preamp. NOS National unions sounded best but are hard to find.
Opus 33 1/3
National Union are very hard to find in pristine NOS condition but not impossible. They can be found as used in decent shape. The Color of the glass makes a difference as well, black is easier to find than the grey glass, which in this instance is not just a matter of cosmetics. The grey have a somewhat softer edge tending to have a sonic signature in the direction of the red based RCA tube.

It's supposedly a Jadis knock-off and I bought it because of a problem with my DIY pre-amp and the lack of a proper work space to currently do any repairs on things electronic.
Could you give a link to your pre-amp? Perhaps, I'll be looking for one...
Below is link to the preamp. You can buy as a kit and assemble the various boards and chassis or complete preamp as pictured above.
Surprisingly decent for the $$
YMMV, you get what you pay for, no relationship with the seller, etc, etc.
Jim McShane says good things about the EH and TS reissue 6SN7s on his site. I haven't tried them personally, but only because my small stash of NOS has now been supplanted with a much larger stock of their 12V cousins. All the gear I design from this point forward will have switchable 6V-12V filaments for all octals except power stages.

Buy Chinese. Bury freedom.
Well, that's good enough for me! ;-)
NOS TS Round Plates can just rot in the basement. Not because I don't want to try them, but I doubt I can find them. :-(
It truly believe that the answer to your question depends on the actual demands placed on the tubes by the circuit.
I found these same Tung-Sol 6SN7 re-issues to sound great in my Aikido DIY Preamp, but the same tubes in my Atmasphere M60 just buzzed out loud, unusable.
Took them over to my friends house who also owns a pair of M60's, the same buzz came through the speakers.
So I sold all eight of them for $5.00 each to a very happy Cary SLP-05 Owner, he got eight of these for $40 while I paid $15 each. He reported back no issues, and great sound.
In my particular case the HK leakage of these brand new tubes was not good enough for my M60 amps that require much better HK leakage that these can typically deliver.
I also had used Electro-Harmonix 6SN7 in my M60's with the same result, buzz.
Now.. if I purchased 100 pieces and rolled them through, I likely would find eight that worked in my M60's.
Yet I have had great results with current production 6SN7 in other equipment I own and use so am grateful that they are still a large variety to choose from.
My 10 cents worth of direct experiences with these tubes.
The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten
Consider buying them from a dealer that rigorously tests them. ;-)
Agree...
Mr. Karsten had responded to my inquiry and he did confirm that the M60 OTL Amplifiers require 6SN7's with exceptional HK leakage parameters.
I ordered 8x Chinese 6SN7's fully tested from a well known Tube Seller and they have been in service since 2006 with no noises or buzzing.
And I rotate the 6SN7's every 6 months clockwise.

"It truly believe that the answer to your question depends on the actual demands placed on the tubes by the circuit."
I totally agree!!
And thanks for the info on the buzz. I have not run into it (or I've forgotten about it happening) but if I do I can refer back to your post. Much appreciated!!
Oh, one last thing - often the heater-cathode leakage is dependent on how hot the tube is running. I have an Amplitrex AT-1000 that makes it easy to see. That might be the reason for the difference between the Cary and your M60.
