The S5000 schematic shows 4 Ω speaker taps. The issue in mating Spatial M3s to a S5000 is what sort of dips are present in the impedance curve. Tube amps don't exhibit the gargantuan damping factors SS amps exhibit. Dips down to 3 Ω should be OK. If dips down to 2 Ω or less (particularly in the power hungry deep bass) are present, a "marriage" is (IMO) suspect.

Thx Eli. I've run a pair of Spatial M2 Turbos for hours using either a Latino ST 70 or Line Magnetic 218ia. That said, I have no idea if airtime would have any issues with his Sherwood. A friend with Spatial M1's also has no issue when using a LM 518ia. The stated impedance on the M series Spatials is 4 ohm nominal with low phase angle and no dips below 3 ohms. I'm guessing (and it's purely that) that it would be no worse than driving a 4 ohm Maggie, aside from the massive gain in efficiency the Spatial offers. Though it may not be the perfect "soulmate" marriage a flat 8 ohm load would present, it's doable in my experience.
That impedance curve is "flat" enough. The S5000 is not no NFB SET and should do fine on the 4 Ω taps. Thank G_D for good "iron".
