...years ago, shortly after I bought my first tube amp and pre-amp, I stopped into a local TV and radio shop in my neighborhood that did repairs looking for tubes. When I inquired they pointed to a bare wall where their tubes formerly resided. Said they got rid of them and threw the whole lot into a dumpster the week before.

Listening with some 12AT7's and 7N7s right now. A ham fest would be great fun.
Great find!!

Very, very nice snare. Who made those 12BH7A? Those are one of my favorites.
Happy Dad's Day find! 8^)

5751s and 12BH7 are great tubes! You lucky dog. If those are black plate, windmill getter Raytheon tubes, you prolly own more than two or three tube nuts combined.
8^)
nice score.
there is nothing left in North West.
Thanks Walter.

I hate you :)
Don't you just love a good hamfest?
Fabulous score!
This hamfest always falls two days after my birthday and right before father's day so it's a nice gift. Midland is a wealthy town being its all Dow execs so they have more money than they know what to do with. It's always the best hamfest for tubes. I also picked up an EIMAC 3-500z that has 25 hours on it for 35 dollars. That's perfect for my SB1000 Heathkit linear.

I was a radioman and most of what we had was tubes. Had a SRT-101 that did most of the transmitting work for teletype and CW.
