I have been selling tubes on Ebay for several years (off and on).
I know the name Kevin Deal, and I know the name Upscale Audio, but I never really paid enough attention to automatically associate the two. I don't buy tubes from tube pros because I don't need to (although I would consider buying from Jim McShane if I really needed something).
Anyway, the manner in which Kevin Deal started out the conversation (at least the way it is reported) is pretentious and out of line. Yeah - you sell a lot of high-dollar tubes, and you know a lot, but the guy has a good seller reputation on Ebay so cut him a little slack and educate before you shoot off your mouth and threaten.
At least he offers refunds, and I don't even do that (willingly, but then again my lots sell for whatever they sell for - never a reserve).
On the other side (lotsofnoise), if you don't know for sure, at least qualify the representation about the tube manufacture.
The thick washer getter structure is, however, a pretty dead giveaway of Chinese origin.
Note to Micahel Samra - isn't it you that likes those older Chinese EL34s?

Indeed, there are some of the Shuggies of that era that sound very good for an EL34..I have several NOS/NIB XF2s and I find those to be rather mushy.I like the RFTs and the Shuggies best for sonic presentation because I honestly think they have more detail and focus. JMHO tho.

Thank you!
I rarely i mean rarely have ever dealt with Chinese tubes. I honestly from the bottom of my heart was not aware before all of this that the thick "washer" type getter was a dead give away of chinese made tubes.
But, i feel like everyone wanted to attack me here because i simply didnt know. We have all had to learn things before and all my point was that it would have been way easier to just educate me politely instead of attack me.
I will admit with my experience in this business it is a shame i didnt know this fact. But, we all are supposed to rely on eachother to share our knowledge to keep this industry from dying off...not attack others when we find that they didnt share our same knowledge.

Industry dying off? Hardly. New production power tubes are quite good.
If you are not sure of what you are selling don't list it.
