... you don't indicate that you had even the tiniest doubt about the provenance of these tubes in your ad. And the name Kevin Deal doesn't ring a bell despite your having been a tube seller for umpteen years. Sorry, no sale.
And despite your using the magic word: "digital." Too funny.

Because everyone in the world must know Kevin Deal....that makes me a liar? Come on. Also...i use a maxi matcher for testing coined as "digital measurement tools for vacuum tubes" how am i not allowed to use the word digital?
Yoi are probably.right in thag a made a mistake in not telling my long story about trying to find out who made these but you are still missing the point....and you too are assuming that because i dont know everything you do that automatically makes me a crook.
Dude, come on.....
I'll quote from your previous message
"And the name Kevin Deal doesn't ring a bell despite your having been a tube seller for umpteen years. Sorry, no sale."
You...implied that anyone being in the business of tubes for as long as i said should know Kevin....isnt that what that above statement says?
Dude, as a tube seller you've clearly led a sheltered life :-)
Really, I wouldn't expect you to know Kevin personally. But given the wealth of tube-related expertise and experience you put forward (that ad is Exhibit A and your feedback is substantial) I would certainly expect you to recognize the name. That's exactly what I meant.
This is what I mean about your credibility issue. No one would suggest that everyone in the world must know him. But anyone who claims all those years of tube selling experience?
And just FWI, I never called you a crook. You're the one who keeps bringing it up.
I've been selling tubes for 15 years. Who is Kevin Deal?

Obviously he is a big "Deal" in the world of tubes and audio. :)
I'd start with the usual: Google "Kevin Deal tubes".
I tried Googling "Byrd69 tubes" but didn't come up with anything.
Almost all of the tubes Byrd sells are used (or at least used to be as of 2-3 years ago) and everyone who buys from him knows this because he makes no bones about. Every tube he sells is measured and the measurements come with the tubes. Want a really strong tube? You don't have to ask. Whenever I've bought tubes from him, he pulls out a bunch selects the best ones he has and matches them as close he can come with his stock. His prices are fairer than fair and he'll replace any tube that is bad without question.
Observe, before you think. Think before you open your yap. Act on the basis of experience.
All I could find via Google was a Dick Byrd. Is that he?
That's my mother.

I wouldn't expect you to.
