Has anyone here has some experience with this tubes, I'm really curious about this just by reading the description on the add. I have a quad match set of of RCA Red Base 5692 in my Rouge Audio 99 Super Magnum and like them a lot but i wont mind having another really nice quad set of tubes to swap out once in a while.
Any info will be greatly appreciated.

It just occurred to me that this tube may not be even made on Mullard jigs. Hitachi was making tubes since before WW2 and I am sure they built 6sn7 before purchasing the Mullard tube making equipment in the 70s. In other words, my feeling is that the seller used a lot of imagination in advertising those tubes. dak
If you want to find out about 6sn7 tubes you need to read the article "6sn7 tube shootout" in Vacuum Tube Valley. The article rates almost all the 6sn7 tubes manufactured. And unlike the hype and outright exaggeration of unproven tube sellers, the authors and testing panelist are known audiophiles, engineers and musicians. cheers, Dak
Hey DAK I tried to find a link to it but was not able too. Do you have one that you post.

I doubt that tube is on par with either a TungSol 6SN7 round plate or even an early 1950s Sylvania. Although I have not heard the tube I never read the same claims anywhere over the last 20 years.
Listing seems overly hyped. I could be dead wrong about this particular tube as I've never heard them, in fact I had no idea Hitachi even made a 6SN7 before you posted this, but I've never heard a GTB that I could live with for very long. And as others have said, I think the asking price is high. NOS vintage 6SN7s just don't pull the $'s like they did a few years back.
The 'Made on Mullard equipment' claim may also be wishful thinking. That claim seems to be popping up lately for almost any Japanese-made tube, with the seller clearly hoping that it'll increase the sale price.
started up in the mid 1950's.
Philips/Hitachi is a new one to me.
The tubes made in the Philips/Hitachi plant will have a "7" in the etched date code.

Not certain though.
Thank you.
Even today the philosophy of the founder still pervades Matsushita. Unfortunately, Sony has suffered tremendously from the death of Morita, particularly in their R and D division.
The prices on that listing are very wishful thinking!
