A lot of people here said that Telefunken did not manufacture 6SN7 tubes in West Germany and I found this;

I started collecting tubes over 20 years ago and way back then I could have bought some Tfk 6sn7gta. They are very rare tubes and are made by Telefunken. One manufacturing sign is the getter. The telefunken design is distinctive.
Interesting that the European tube makers did not make many 6sn7 and 6sl7 types. Even the ecc33 and ecc35 were not made in large numbers. Maybe they could not compete with USA manufacturers and gave up that market to the Americans. regards, Dak
I thought "Made in Western Germany" instead of "Made in West Germany" was the giveaway.

those look like CBS. I do know Tele made a black base one though. Getter ring is the giveaway.
"I thought 'Made in Western Germany'... was the giveaway."
That was a small region in Berlin where people rode horses and wore cowboy hats.

Those are cool! Even have the falcons on them. Never seen a pic of red ones before. Okay, now I believe TFK made 'em.
I was joking.
I thought only RCA made red base 5692s? And all the other brands were just re-branded RCAs?

I guess my attempt at humor was too obtuse. What I really thought funny/strange was to put 5962's through the acceptance testing for the military or postal service - I can't recall which it was that used the falcon, and then relabel them as WGTAs.
I posted the pics for the same reason I though Tele did not make them.
I'm perfectly happy with my Quad match set of RCA Red Base in my Rouge pre amp but can't help but wonder how a Quad Match set of Teles will sound like???
I have the same tube....one. I've had it forever.
I don't know if this collage will show well. The tube is dirty.

I do wonder though if TFk really made those. I've read it both ways many times over the years. No, they didn't, then others would pull out a picture like the one you showed. The picture by itself doesn't prove it one way or the other, but does make me wonder. Does anybody know for sure?
To my knowledge, Telefunken did not manufacture 6SN7 type tubes...a lot of relabeling going on around that time - including the made in W. Germany print.
No, the dirt is clear as day. : )
