7N7 have a different pinout to 6SN7 so pcb loctal sockets are a no-no . I wonder what these adapters do with the spigot connection ? Left floating can cause hum

That's right, PCB sockets will not work. The PCB traces could be cut and rewired to force the 7N7 to work, but.....

Out of curiosity and an oversized collection of 6SN7s how much do 7N7s cost. I have to agree with the post that NOS (used) Sylvania 6SN7GTAs angled plate and GTBs don't cost much more than $10-15. How many do you need I don't know if I even have them so this is not an ad. It just surprises me that such a ubiquitous tube should cost very much. That is no reflection on their sound quality which can be quite good, in the right circumstance.

Not a bad price for closely matched NOS quads. And they are very quiet in my preamp.
