I didn't notice this until the tube was gone. I wish I had a better photo of the cloth covered leads inside.

Never had the luck to find any ECC33's, but I'd bet they sound pretty good as well.
Is that a round plate? Always a good sign.
A lot of older tubes with the pressed stem seal use the cambric tubing where there's a possibility of lead outs shorting during assy and/or where high voltage might be present. I've seen this construction on old "ST" style 5R4s. The tubing is outside of the envelope and at atmospheric pressure. The advent of the button seal pretty much eliminated the need the tubing.
