Pulls twice as much heater current, you will likely overheat your power transformer. Why on earth would you put one of these in a voltage regulator where it will make zero difference at all compared to a Sovtek 6L6GC?
Follow Ups:
The tube that is used will make a big sonic difference. Does not matter the tube is part of the voltage regulator circuit. Every tube in this circuit will have a sonic impact.
I have the ARC REF2 which uses the same power supply as the REF Phono. There was a huge difference/improvement in the preamp when the stock Sovtek 6L6GC was replaced with a RCA Blackplate.
Yikes, if the regulator in the ARC is that sensitive to part changes you would be absolutely blown away by a proper choke regulated power supply.
