What amp are you running them in?
Follow Ups:
Newer Dynakitparts Stereo 70, original circuit with enhancements (Triode USA cap board, individual power tube bias, a few "boutique" parts here and there...).

If you want a warmer tube I'd pass on EH's. What do you not like about the EH EL34's.
It's not a warm/cool, bright/dark issue. The quad of EH EL34 that I have sounds a bit gritty. Maybe it's just this quad, but, if not, I am wondering if the EH 6CA7 is smoother? By any chance, have you compared them on this point, specifically?

No, I have not compared them. Are they new tubes? Have you recently added any 'new' parts to your amp?
They're newer. No changes to the amp. My other EL34s in the same amp do not sound gritty.
They may need more hours on them to settle in. I try not to listen critically until they do.
I have a few quads, the ones I have in my amp now have over 5 years of use and bias perfectly. I love the, only better el34 I have are 5 Amperex Holland El 34, which I never use, all test great on a B&K 700 tube tester.
I'd like to consider it, but it doesn't seem like they are readily available. Even if they were, I suspect they'd be mighty expensive.
Yes they are expensive, but last long and are reliable tubes..
