Were you referring to the JJ being more reliable than the Genelex or were you saying the JJs are more reliable than JJs of the past? If you meant the former, you are wrong about this because the JJ octal's reliability have been horrible to say the least. The New Sensor Genelex has been first rate and while New Sensor had an occasional brief issue with suppliers every now and then,it was never dramatic and it was usually rectified in the next production run.
I have had JJ KT77s and they sound very good when they work but failures have been catastrophic to the point where I can't recommend them to people without the fear of them doing damage to equipment.
The Genelex KT77s are not only better sounding with more body, they are extremely durable and they don't have crooked bottles and undersized pins that fit loosely in the sockets...Just my two cents.

And not afraid to use them in my vintage Mullard 5-20 amps.

My comment was not very clear.
I meant the reliability of the current JJ's seemed to be better than the JJ's of the past, however, based on some of the posts, maybe not...
I have had positive experiences with JJ octals but you have to get them from a dealer that tests them.
Yes, they are better now.
