I delivered it back this morning before i left for the country side. He wasn't too worried, which makes me wonder if he isn't used to this happening with this amp. The odd thing is that the flash was visible and while i wasn't concentrating, it probably was the rectifier. BUT, the rectifier worked perfectly just after this in another amp. I will know more when i get back into town in a few days.

Can the amp use a 5U4GB?
I'm not sure it can due to the larger voltage swing. I can't vouch for the schematic, either. It is old. But it never started up smoothly...the rectifier, compared to what i am used to.
