I'm confused.
The 6de7 has a medium gain (mu of 16.5), low current (5.5ma), high plate resitance (8750 ohms) triode and a low gain (mu of 6), high current (35ma), low plate resistance (925 ohms) triode.
How would a 6sn7, both triodes with a mu of 20, a plate resistance of 7700, work in its place?
I can see it working for the first stage, the gain stage but not the second stage, the output stage.
Please enlighten me.

Follow Ups:
The "Woo" site says that this amp has no solid state devices. The second triode must be configured as a cathode follower. It could be that with the set up, a 6SN7 would not be over run as the two halves of the tube are operated very differently. Really doubtful if the 6SN7 is operated in the most linear section of the curve in this kind of swapping, but hey, it allows them to sell stuff.
I didn't consider that the output stage might be a cathode follower.
That would make possibility of the 6sn7 doing the job of driving the load more practical.
Thanks.

Drive/Power tube option 3:
1 matched pair of 6SN7GT plus one pair of Teflon tube adapters $160 (2 pcs)
The 6SN7 is well known driver tube which is also compatible to the WA6 (not compatible to the WA6-SE). It is usable on the WA6 with a 9-pin to 8-pin tube adapter.
Above from the Woo Audio W6 page--you'll have to get the answer from Jack or someone with more knowledge than me!
