I guess you could call it mojo or soul, what the TSRI lacks in spades, along with bass. Tweaker
Follow Ups:
Pope has excellent harmonic quality. Much better than most new issued tubes. Visseaux's has the similar quality.
I'm leaning toward the GE 7408 grey plate (6v6GTA?) as being what I'm looking for on paper. It is reported to have the best deep? bass, forward sounding and not extended in the treble. This is what I'm looking for. Just haven't pulled the trigger on these yet. The well loved Ken Rad VT-107a's were a big disappointment. Musical but rather fuzzy. If the Relector otk's had deeper bass I'd be close to happy with the sound. Probably an underrated tube. Maybe as underrated as the TSRI is overrated. I hope this tube is the last I'll ever roll.
