I know the newest Carver amps employ the new Tung-Sol KT150 & the newly updated Quicksilver V4 comes stock with the KT150.
I wouldnt mind geting into those newly designed V4's with my Legacy Focus SE's but trying to sell my KT88 Carvers would be a bloodbath money wise....

The Quicksilver Silver 88 is also available with KT 150s. Word has it that is now Mike's favorite model.

I got some, my first tube amps and my first new amps in ten years to go with new speakers. So I don't have hardly any experience to lend. I'm running my Quicksilver with the new-fangled KT150's. I decided that they had more bass articulation than the KT88s (KT88's were warmer tho). After trying some new-issue input tubes, I went with 1960's RCA 12BH7 and Amperex Bugle Boy 12AX7 and like that well. Now I'm thinking to stock up on replacement input tubes and am wondering what 12AX7 might do better... maybe better soundstaging, still with good bass extension and well-behaved response. My speakers are SF Elipsa SE red, and my source material is well-handled digital.
