Just curious to know which commercially made amps if any are using KT150's. Thanks!

As mentioned below, the Quicksilver Silver 88 does, but only the most recent version. There were some design changes made to accommodate the KT150.

Earle Weston winds his own transformers, to a standard rarely if ever seen elsewhere. And that's only part of the story.
Ask nicely he could probably do them in 117v or whatever funny voltage it is that is used on the eastern side of the Pacific.
Audio Research will use them in their Galileo series.
I know the newest Carver amps employ the new Tung-Sol KT150 & the newly updated Quicksilver V4 comes stock with the KT150.
I wouldnt mind geting into those newly designed V4's with my Legacy Focus SE's but trying to sell my KT88 Carvers would be a bloodbath money wise....
The Quicksilver Silver 88 is also available with KT 150s. Word has it that is now Mike's favorite model.

I got some, my first tube amps and my first new amps in ten years to go with new speakers. So I don't have hardly any experience to lend. I'm running my Quicksilver with the new-fangled KT150's. I decided that they had more bass articulation than the KT88s (KT88's were warmer tho). After trying some new-issue input tubes, I went with 1960's RCA 12BH7 and Amperex Bugle Boy 12AX7 and like that well. Now I'm thinking to stock up on replacement input tubes and am wondering what 12AX7 might do better... maybe better soundstaging, still with good bass extension and well-behaved response. My speakers are SF Elipsa SE red, and my source material is well-handled digital.
Search kt150 and amplifier. You will find amps from Ayon, Dennis Had, Jadis, Icon Audio and others.
Google found me a few, thanks. Some that were designed from the ground up for the KT150 and others that just happen to accommodate them. ;-)
I believe you can use KT150 in some Primaluna units
Quicksilver , rogue, CJ among many others. lots of German tubes too.
Aren't those that you mentioned KT120 amps?
Cheers,
Al
I know that Rogue recommends against using the KT150 in the Cronus Magnum integrated amp. Quoted from an email I received this morning from Nick at Rogue Audio:
"The transformers in the Cronus are not optimized for the KT150, so you would want to stay with the KT120's."
Abe, did they say anything about testing the kt150 or modifying the amps to be able to use them?
I emailed Mark O'Brien at Rogue about the KT150s in the Cronus Magnum, and as Abe states, they won't work.
But Mark has ordered some transformers to test with the KT150s and said he might have some news about using the tubes in a product at the end of the year. Or not.
Good info. I hope Mark follows through with a KT150 power amp or integrated.
I was hoping to use KT150s with my Cronus Magnum just for grins 'cuz the tubes look so cool. But then I noticed the price. $95 each. Still, I hope Rogue finds a way to use them in a future product.
That's what I was hoping. Thanks! Hopefully if testing goes well they will have an upgrade available.
No, it was a very brief email exchange. I just wanted to know if I could use KT150's in the Cronus Magnum.
BTW, those KT150s are not cheap ($95 USD ea.) which is about twice the price of a KT120.
Happy 4th from Colorado!

Interesting. I read The Absolute Sound review linked off the Rogers website. It stated that the amp puts out the same power with KT120 or KT150 tubes. This leads me to believe that the power supply in that amp cannot take full advantage of the KT150's capabilities.
